He played in international ODI from 2000 to 2007. He debuted in Test Match in the year 2003. Despite diagnosed with cancer, he played in winning 2011 Indian World cup Cricket team. He won Man of the Tournament in it. In the year 2007 against England, he hit six sixers consecutively smashing all the records in International Test Cricket.
